About the Webinar

This webinar will provide a general overview of Anaerobic Soil Disinfestation (ASD) as an ecological tool for regenerating soil health in vegetables and specialty crop production systems. Attendees will learn:

- Principles and Strategies of Soil Health Regeneration with ASD

- Advantages of incorporating cover crops with ASD for building soil health

- The role of carbon-based soil amendments in building soil health

Jaya will share results of the 3+ years of research conducted in Pennsylvania on organic tomato production.

About the Presenter

Jaya Nepal is a postdoctoral scholar at the Vegetable Crop Sciences Laboratory at Penn State University. Jaya has a PhD in Soil and Water Sciences from University of Florida, FL where his dissertation focused on evaluating carbon-based amendments (e.g. biochar) effect on soil nutrient dynamics, health and crop productivity. In his current role, Jaya is continuing efforts in advancing anaerobic soil disinfestation as an ecological tool for regenerating soil health.
