About the Webinar

Organic commodity sales have increased continuously, but organic pig production has declined in recent years in the U.S. In this webinar, we will discuss challenges in organic pig production, including parasites, pre-weaning mortality, and costs of feed and bedding. Then, we will explore strategies to address these challenges based on our research at the University of Minnesota and in the Midwestern Region.

About the Presenter

Dr. Yuzhi Li is a professor of organic swine production at the University of Minnesota’s West Central Research and Outreach Center, located in Morris, MN. She has led several organic swine projects sponsored by the USDA Organic Research and Extension Initiatives (OREI). The goals of these projects include evaluating parasite prevalence and reducing feed costs in organic pig production.
